Margo Selby was commissioned by the Royal Opera House to design a set of unique fabrics – for scarves, cushions, bags and purses – inspired by the architectural forms of the new Linbury Theatre; a celebration of the shared and intersecting languages of textiles, architecture and opera.

The Magic Flute, Carmen, Bohème, Swan Lake and Rigoletto designs, combine inspiration from the bold linear wood panelling of the new architecture, and the decorative splendour of the original building.

The commissioned fabrics are woven from silk and heat shrink yarns in a double cloth structure to create the three-dimensional quality – Margo’s unique signature.

In early 2022, Tony Green from ITV Meridian News interviewed Margo about the collaboration.
