Weaving workshops in review 2024
In 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming weavers from across the globe to our Whitstable studio for Margo Selby’s five-day creative weaving workshops.
Guided by Margo herself, with the support of our highly skilled studio weavers, these workshops are crafted to deepen each participant’s technical expertise while inviting them to explore and express their unique creative approach.
Over the course of the workshop, attendees worked on an array of looms; from 8-shaft table looms to our intricate 24-shaft dobby loom, gaining hands-on experience with diverse techniques, tools and a wide variety of yarns.
Colour is a central focus of the workshops, and Margo enriches the experience with a dedicated session on colour theory. Here, she shares her unique approach to colour and guides a yarn-winding session, inspiring participants to experiment with their warp planning.
Participants from this year's workshops left the following feedback.
I attended the workshop with the intention of improving my use and knowledge of colour and the workshop has definitely done this.

Absolutely delightful workshop! Such a nice friendly helpful atmosphere and so many smiles. I plan to use lots and lots of multicoloured warps.

As a complete beginner, I learnt so much and had the opportunity to try many different looms and techniques.

Congratulations on creating such a supportive atmosphere the studio staff were amazing.

I think I will be more adventurous with colours in the warp and I think I will have a better idea of constructing a more interesting warp. I also enjoyed being able to use a variety of looms.
