Aria’s iconic London showroom is the first to showcase our Rag + Bone collection.

Having opened its doors in 1989 in Islington, North London, in the impressive Barnsbury Hall, Aria curates a refined selection of iconic design pieces and contemporary homewares that we swoon over!

Aria was drawn to the Margo Selby Rag + Bone range by the strong and positive sustainability message, akin to Aria’s values. From the design theme, to the sourcing and manufacture of the items, each step of the process has been curated and executed to a high standard.

Natural, renewable and biodegradable, our new Rag + Bone collection of 4 fabrics is 76% wool, mostly recycled. We choose wool for its luscious feel, its practical hardwearing properties and its sustainability as a fabric – it is our choice for upholstery. 

The Rag + Bone fabrics are made with at least 40% recycled wool in the weft – gleaned from post-consumer textile waste (secondhand jumpers), sorted by colour around the spectrum, shredded back to fibre, combed, and then re-spun into yarn (no bleaching or re-dying). The yarn has a lovely mélange quality to it – the mix of fibres from the reclaimed wool being all slightly different tones of similar colours. 

It is this process of gathering and repurposing material that gives the collection its name: Rag + Bone – to honour a textiles tradition of thrift and sustainability.
