Assembly Fabric

The Margo Selby fabric, Assembly, was designed specifically for the City Gull Wing Sofa for Decca Europe. Part of the London Collection, this collaboration was awarded BEST CONTEMPORARY DESIGN by FX Design Magazine at Decorex 2018.

Assembly features an expansive 1.5 x 2 metre repeat – so that the intersecting coloured blocks work when the fabric is cut and joined at any point. This luxurious dual-purpose fabric (both soft furnishing and upholstery) has an even balance between warp and weft and a density of finish that recalls needlepoint embroidery. The Assembly design has a clear relationship to Margo’s handwoven Lampas works – an example of our ‘Art into Industry’ approach. The scale of the pattern and size of the repeat results in each application being unique.
