Commissioning An Artwork

Margo Selby welcomes artwork commissions large and small – for her handwoven wall pieces, stretched and framed, and also for grander-scale installations working in collaboration with designers and architects. Margo is experimental in outlook and keen to test the potentials of woven textiles as art.

Weaving is ongoing in the studio, and we have a selection of Margo’s existing finished pieces for sale. Work is at times available through various galleries in the UK and USA. If, however, you have something particular in mind, then a commission for a new work can be developed through discussion.

Colour + Composition

All of Margo’s artworks are unique and original, never to be repeated. A commission is often derived from a conversation about previous work where colour and composition can be referenced as a starting point. If you would like to talk about a commission we would want to know the size of the work required as well as perhaps the intended environment and space. Technical aspects of an installation are always important, and framing and mounting must be considered. The specific requirements can actually provide the impetus of an artwork, made in response to a particular setting. Margo is happy to work alongside interior designers or other consultants to arrive at a brief.

Initial consultation

To form a brief, we invite clients to review our Selected Works portfolio and archive. and establish which pieces may be a starting point for new work(s).
